MENTORS

Andrea Peterson began homeschooling her five amazing children in 2005 and has loved every minute of it. Andrea has an insatiable love of learning that encompasses all areas, but especially math, science, and the variety of learning styles and challenges. She has been blessed to be with ALTUS Family Liber Academy in Tucson from the beginning, and wishes everyone had access to the incredible mentoring and community they experience. Andrea loves to read, play and coach sports, be outdoors, take long road trips, and especially, do any or all of the above with her family. She loves learning and is working on a Master's in Mathematics. Andrea is incredibly excited to bring you Liber Education and to work with her close friends Katie and Olivia.

Mrs. Larisa has been teaching music lessons since 2009, and is a certified Simply Music and a certified Suzuki teacher. Larisa started her love of music with her Christmas viola at age 6 and piano at age 8. Larisa is the daughter of Aneladee Milne (the co-founder of LEMI) and is a purebred TJED student! As a youth she attended all of the TJED courses offered by her commonwealth, and credits these courses for who she is today. Shakespeare Conquest taught her she has a role to play in life, Key of Liberty and Sword of Freedom taught her she can do hard things, and Quest taught her she has a mission and how to find it! Larisa is excited to share her passion for the lessons taught in the Civil War and the World Wars and is honored to mentor Sword of Freedom and Hero Projects this year! 

Katie Richins loves homeschooling her 6 children, and has always cared about learning, education, childhood, and particularly the power and importance of families. Katie is a founding member of ALTUS Family Liber Academy in Tucson, along with Andrea and Olivia, and feels incredibly blessed by the community, mentorship, and friendship she and her family have experienced there. She loves working with individuals and communities as a LEMI Trainer. Living back in Tucson where she grew up, Katie loves spending time with her family and friends, excellent food, sunshine, and outdoor fun - preferably all together. Katie is thrilled to work with her dear friends Andrea and Olivia in bringing you Liber Education.

Tara dove headfirst into homeschooling, Leadership Education and liber communities when her oldest was 5 years old and she hasn't looked back. Thanks to her super supportive husband and four fabulous children, she's able to wear a variety of hats that have contributed to her own learning and growth. Passionate about building community, Tara is the torchbearer of Heart and Mind Academy in Cheyenne, Wyoming and loves working as a LEMI trainer to help other individuals and communities. Tara has enjoyed mentoring both youth and adults over the years. She strives to live the principles of Georgics and is thrilled for the opportunity to mentor the Georgics Project through Liber Education.

Olivia Votaw has worked in public, private, and homeschool education since 2004. She loves learning and teaching about America's founding history, mathematics, Georgics, cooking, and education. Olivia is one of the founders of Rise Up Academy in Utah and the torchbearer of ALTUS Family Liber Academy in Tucson, Arizona. Working as a LEMI trainer continues to be a great joy to her. Camping on the beach, reading, laughing, hiking, and road trips with her family are some of her favorite things. She lives in Southern Arizona with her Votawesome husband, three spunky kids, one Mexican mother, and two fluffy dogs. Olivia is over the moon to work with two of her favorite people, Katie and Andrea on Liber Education.
